Google Chrome Operating System

Chrome OS or Chromium OS is an open source operating system still under development from the search engine major Google Inc. In July 2009 Google made public announcement about this new project. On November 19th Google made the source code of Chrome OS public so that developers around the world can contribute to the ambitious project.

Most probably it would take at least a year to become Chrome OS as a full fledged Operating System. Since public code is available now software developers and software testers can download it, install it and write codes for new features to this open source operating system.

Google Chrome OS is basically an Operating System for Web. All applications will be web based or web apps and everything will execute from your browser.

Google OS uses the latest buzz Cloud Computing and store all system specific information in the Google servers. Also Chrom OS has special security measures to take care of viruses and malwares.

Every time when the OS starts it will check its own integrity and every apps need to be qualified before running. So it will be difficult for a malware to get into the system.

Chrome OS is initially targeted at notebook computers but it's will soon appear in desktops too.
